BLS Provider
Basic Life Support for nurses, physicians, EMS, dental staff, students and anyone in a clinical role. Covers high-quality CPR for adults, children and infants, AED use, team resuscitation and choking relief.
$80 per person. Card valid for two years.
Heartsaver CPR AED
Adult, child and infant CPR plus AED use for teachers, coaches, childcare providers, babysitters, and anyone who needs a CPR card for work or peace of mind.

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED
Everything in Heartsaver CPR AED plus common medical emergencies, injuries, bleeding control and environmental emergencies.

Meet your instructor
Dr. Tamara Jones, PhD, MSN, RN, CNE is the owner and instructor of ResQLearn CPR Academy and an American Heart Association certified BLS and Heartsaver instructor.
She has been a registered nurse for more than 30 years, with experience in acute and critical care, and is a Certified Nurse Educator with over 13 years in nursing education. She holds a PhD in Nurse Education and is the author of Thriving Through Caring: Preventing Burnout in the Nursing Profession.
Tamara is passionate about teaching CPR to the community, because the person who steps in first is often a coworker, a neighbor or a family member. Her classes are calm, hands-on and built so you leave confident you can act.
Questions
Is my card from the American Heart Association?
Yes. Students who pass receive an official AHA eCard.
What do I need to provide?
A room with enough floor space for students to kneel and practice, plus AV equipment such as a screen or projector and speakers. We bring the manikins, AEDs and all other training supplies.
How long does a class take?
Most classes take 2 to 4 hours. The length depends on whether you are renewing or taking the course for the first time, and on how many people are in the class. Tell us your group size when you request a class and we will confirm the time.
Where do you teach?
We come to you: workplaces, schools, offices, churches, community centers and homes. Send your group size, location and preferred dates, and we will set up a session. We serve Charlotte and surrounding counties. There is no minimum group size, and classes are limited to 12 participants.
Do I need to take an exam for Heartsaver CPR, First Aid and AED?
No, unless your job requires it. If your employer requires an exam, let us know when you request a class.
Is there a test for BLS?
Yes. BLS students must pass both a skills test and a written exam to receive their AHA eCard.
Do I need a student handbook?
You can buy a student handbook from the American Heart Association website, or your instructor can provide one for you to use during the class.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?

Does the card expire?
AHA BLS and Heartsaver cards are valid for two years. Renew before the expiration date to stay current.
